Super Sectionals were played last night in prep 1a girls soccer. Lia Quintero scored in the 2nd overtime to lift Quincy Notre Dame over Belleville Althoff 1-0 to win the Columbia Super Sectional. They advance to play Normal University at North Central College in Naperville in the 2nd state semifinal following Richmond Burton and Lombard Montini on Friday.
In 2a sectional semifinals last night at Troy, Waterloo and Mascoutah were tied at 2 at the end of regulation and overtime, but Waterloo outscored Mascoutah 3-2 in penalty kicks to advance to take on the hosts after Triad beat Marion 7-0.
In 3a sectional semifinals at Normal Community, Edwardsville shutout O’Fallon 2-0 and will advance to play Normal after their 3-1 win over Moline.
