Smith & Johnson Qualify For State On LONG Day At Triad Sectional

Salem competed on a long day at the Triad Track Sectionals with several rain and lighting delays throughout the day.  Salem sophomore Caleb Smith won the shot put throwing 16.57 meters and advances to state.  Smith and teammate Cole Johnson threw the qualifying distance to advance in the discus.   Johnson was 3^rd going 45.07 which is a PR and Smith was 4^th in 44.68.

Also competing for Salem, Ethan Pride was 4^th in the high jump, Alek Bandy and Bryson Quinn both PR’d at 3.66m to finish 4-5 in the pole vault, Sean Thornton was 5^th in the 300m hurdles, Miking Ettress 6^th in the long jump, Caidien Beer 9^th in the 1600, Brady Crane 10^th in the 110m hurdles.  Ricardo Salgado was 13^th in the 800m, Hayden Hopkins 15^th in the 100m in a PR time of 12.50 and Same Greene PR’s in 12.71 to finish 19^th.
