UNDATED (AP) — The Pittsburgh Penguins have stretched their winning streak by knocking off the Sabres.

Jeff Carter scored 2:53 into overtime to give the Penguins their sixth straight win, 3-2 over the Sabres.

Carter’s heroics came after he was called for tripping with just five seconds left in regulation. The Pens kept it tied with their 35th consecutive penalty kill over their last 15 games.

Evan Rodrigues netted his career-high 10th goal of the season, and Brock McGinn scored for the third time in four games.

Malcolm Subban turned back a career-high 45 shots to keep the Sabres in the game. Subban was playing for the first time since sustaining an injury in his Buffalo debut on Dec. 4.
