The preliminary parade lineup is out for Saturday’s Veterans 4th of July Parade in Centralia.
Parade Chair Butch Mathius says others are still welcome to join.
“We have 39 entries at this moment, and it’s looking really good,” Mathis said. “We sent out over 60 entries. If you have not sent that, please give me a call at 618-322-4238, or email me at butch.mathus@gmail.com. Right now, everything is looking wonderful. We’re hoping for a bit of cooler weather.”
Mathus is hoping a big crowd shows up.
“We’re here to honor our veterans,” Mathus said. “Especially with this being very special, the 250th anniversary of our nation, I just ask everybody to please show up.”
The parade will be led by Grand Marshall the Honorable Tammy Guidish of the U.S. Air Force.
Mathus says you can also register the day of the parade by coming to a table set up at the start of parade at Chestnut and Broadway. The parade will begin at one o’clock on Saturday afternoon and will travel from Chestnut to Fairview Park. Trophies will be given out at the park following the parade.
