The Marion County Health Department reports 155 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday and Thursday. There were no additional deaths.
The department lists 127 of the cases as community spread and 28 as a result of household or close contacts. One of the cases is linked to the Salem factory outbreak and none are long-term care residents. Eight of the 155 cases were fully vaccinated.
The number in the hospital has grown to 22. Three are three on ventilators. Three are long-term care residents.
Mallow says four of the cases are in children under five and 31 are school age. The majority of cases are falling in the 20 to 70 year age bracket. Six of the cases were in those 70 and above.
There are now 435 active cases in Marion County. Nine were released from isolation in the past two days.
