Darrel Speiser, 85, of Sandoval passed away Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon. Mr. Speiser worked as a lifelong farmer, starting during his growing years in Boulder and continuing his family’s tradition of farming for 58 years in the Sandoval area. He was no stranger to hard work and was an amazing provider for his family. Darrel enjoyed time with his family, making sure to provide quality time for each of them. He was a proud grandpa and loved more than anything to spoil his grandchildren and watch them grow. Darrel will be deeply missed, and his legacy will continue on in all the best parts of his family and friends.
Day Macz Funeral Home in Sandoval is privileged to be assisting the family of Darrel Speiser with arrangements. A celebration of life service will be held privately by the family. Along with his wife 63 years, Anna Speiser, survivors that will remember Darrel as a protective, family man include his children Cheryl Haines and husband Roy of Odin, Pamela Charlton and husband George of Prattville, Alabama, Gail Speiser and wife T.J. of Odin, and Matt Speiser and wife Lora of Sandoval; grandchildren Scott and Cheryl Haines, Chris and Jesse Haines, Chad and Emily Haines, Amber Haines and fiancé John Thompson, Michele and Greg Mills, Eric Charlton, Kortney Speiser, Bill Janicki, Janette and Thomas Albers, and Darrel Ray Speiser; 20 great-grandchildren; brother Dale Speiser and wife Barb; and several nieces and nephews.
He was born on February 18, 1936, the son of Wilbert and Gladys (Beadle) Speiser in Centralia. He married Anna Quick in March of 1958 and she survives in Sandoval. Mr. Speiser was preceded in death by his parents; son David Speiser; and grandson Joshua Speiser.
