The Blue Angels and Blue Devils cross country teams traveled to Springfield to compete in the UIS Stars Invitational meet. No reason to talk about the weather/temperatures.
The men and women would both run at 5K distance. The Blue Angels were first to line up and due to sickness and injuries only 3 of the Angels were able to start the race. Rylee Brammeier of Walnut Hill had a solid race with a time of 22:46 and placed 31st. Joscelyn Morrow of Vinenna ran a personal best time of 26:28. Gracie Morgan of Centralia unfortunately was not able to finish despite a gallant effort.
The Blue Devils were able to line up 7 racers. The KC men were led by Jack Shank of Edwardsville placing 33rd with a time of 17:21, he was followed by Brady Marshall of Smithton in 39th in a time of 17:44, next was Robby Shober of Salem in a time of 17:49/40th. Oliver Lee was the 4th counter for the team in a time of 17:5/42nd. The 5th counter was Noah Markus of Aviston in 53rd and then Will Tepe of Okwaville in 54th. Adin Roach of Highland fell on the course and was not able to finish. The Blue Devils finished 6th as a team.
