The Carillon Park will soon be a complete city block around the Carillon Bell Tower.

Foundation Chair Dave Agee says plans are to demolish the two remaining buildings on the block as early as this fall.  The foundation has purchased the former Shell and Centralia Stationary buildings with the intent to tear them down.  Both have been vacant for some time.

Agee says at least at first the land under the buildings will be landscaped to match the rest of the park.

Agee notes when the foundation began the project with construction of the Carillon Bell Tower, the block square park was part of a 100-year plan.   He says they will be completing the project in half the time.
