2021 08/15 – Howard Pat Williams

Howard Pat Williams, 78, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side at 7:57 am August 11, 2021. Howard was a proud Vietnam veteran who served his country in the United States Marines. He was of the Baptist faith. Howard enjoyed playing with remote control boats that he built, going mudding in his truck, and camping. Howard was known as “Chilly Willy” on the CB circuit. In everything he did, Howard enjoyed it most when it was shared with his family. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be sorely missed until we meet again.

A Visitation will be held Sunday, August 15, 2021 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Newell Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. A Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 pm with Reverend Randy Hayes officiating. Interment will follow at Bethel Memorial Cemetery in Mount Vernon. The American Legion Post #141 will conduct full military honors at the cemetery. Howard married Jane (Gee) Williams on January 18, 1973 in Evansville, Indiana. They were blessed with 48 years of marriage. In addition to his beloved wife, Howard is survived by his sons, Danny Williams and special friend, Karen and David Williams and special friend, Pam, all of Mount Vernon; daughters, Tammy Jordan and special friend, Greg of Mount Vernon and Angie Wornica and husband, Shenan of Kentucky; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

He was born March 21, 1943 in Mount Vernon to the late Howard R. and Pauline (Hanley) Williams. In addition to his parents, Howard was preceded in death by his son, Donnie R. Williams; and infant brother, David W. Williams.
