2021 08/18 – Walter A. Green

Walter A. Green age 83, of Texico passed away Sunday at the family farm near Texico where he was born. Besides farming Mr. Green was an electrician and a draftsman working for Acco manufacturing and the Ziegler Foundry. He was very active in the local community . He was a member of the Main Street Christian Church. He Served at one time or another the Marion County Board; the Romine Township Board; and the Kell School Board. He loved to garden and to fish especially when the grandkids were along. Most of all he will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

Funeral Services for Walter Green will be held Wednesday August 18th at 11:00 A.M. at the Donoho Prairie Christian Church near Kell with Shannon Bopp officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-8 P.M. Tuesday Evening at the Church. Burial will follow at the Old Donoho Prairie Cemetery. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to L. R. Osborn & Son Funeral Home of Kell.

He married Patricia Ann Bertsch January 17, 1959 and she survives. Besides his wife Patricia Walter is survived by his children; Brent and Michelle Green of Eureka, Il; Bradley and Deann Green of Kell; Brian and Ramona Green of Texico: Bruce and Gina Green of Texico; Tammy Donoho and husband Darrell of Mt. Vernon Teresa Knight and husband Keith of Texico. He is also survived by one brother Jon Green and wife Fern of Mt. Vernon; one sister Cathy Schwegler of Lebanon, Tn.; a sister-in-law, Carolyn Lynn Green of Iuka and by 18 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

Walter was born April 1, 1938 in Texico the son of W.K. Green and Amy Kern Green. Walter was preceded in death by his parents; by brothers: Charles , Terry, James and Dennis and by sisters: Sue Ellen and Martha Lynn; and by one great grandson Liam Smith.
