Barbara Jean Ross, 85, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 9:27 pm July 5, 2021, at White Oak Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Mount Vernon, Illinois.
Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Barbara was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
A Visitation will be held Saturday, July 10, 2021, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Newell Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. A Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 am. She was born October 20, 1935, in Kentucky to the late Tennesse Edward and Willie Lois (Taylor) Corbin. Barbara married Ollie “Jim” Ross on November 27, 1959, in Chicago, Illinois.
Barbara is survived by her children, Cindy Ross-Krueger of Opdyke, Illinois and William Everett Ross and wife, Anne of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, James Krueger and wife, Bev of Centralia, Illinois and Michele Shannon of Houston, Texas; great-grandsons, William Krueger of Centralia, Illinois and Lucas Shannon of Houston, Texas; sister-in-law, Judy Ross of Michigan; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents Barbara was preceded in death by her late husband, Ollie (Jim) Ross; son-in-law, John Krueger; sibling, Helen Capps; half-sibling, Mary Welchance; sister-in-law, Zella Adkins; and brother-in-law, William Ross.
