The Salem Water Plant has recorded a record-high temperature for the past five days.   The week’s highest temperature came Saturday, when the thermometer reached 102 degrees, breaking the old record of 100 degrees set in 1960.   Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday highs were 101 degrees each day, breaking records set in various years.

The streak ended on Sunday, when the high temperature was in the low 90s.  Still warm for September, but not record-breaking.
