2021 06/17 – Jayne Louise Sells

Jayne Louise Sells, 72, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, went to be with her Savior at 4:24 pm June 12, 2021, at her residence with her family by her side.

Mrs. Sells was a nurse for fifty-one years. She was a podiatry nurse for Dr. Brian Lee for many years. Jayne was very active at Central Christian Church in many different ministries. She found joy in sharing the love of Christ with the children at Kid Depot and those who attended Central’s Hope Group. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, neighborhood “Mama Jayne” to many others.

A Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 16, 2021, starting at 4:00 pm at Central Christian Church in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, June 17, 2021, at 11:00 am at Central Christian Church in Mount Vernon, Illinois with the Pastoral Staff at Central Christian Church officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Illinois. She was born July 17, 1948, in Canton, Ohio to the late John and Juanita (Connely) Onesto. Jayne married Randy Sells on December 22, 1968.

In addition to her loving husband of fifty-two years, Jayne is survived by her children, Scott Sells and fiancee, Sammie Payne of Fort Harrison, Indiana, Danny Sells of Laguna Beach, California, Barby Sells-Palmer and husband, Chris of Mount Vernon, Illinois; grandchildren, Andrew Sells and wife, Courtney of Indianapolis, Indiana, Monicka Hernandez and husband, Daniel of Atlanta, Georgia, Jonathan Sells of Fort Harrison, Indiana, Ashton Palmer, Madison Palmer, Kaitlyn Palmer, Gavin Sells, Ayden Palmer, and Christian Marcum all of Mount Vernon, Illinois; great-grandchildren, Josiah, Josie, and Jonah Hernandez; one great-grandchild expected soon; God-son, Dr. Wes Neal; brother, John Onesto and wife, Donna of Columbus, Ohio; sister, Jennifer Stamoules of Canton, Ohio; several nieces and nephews; and many other close friends that she considered family.

Jayne loved the Lord and that love never wavered. She was dedicated to the church and she had a contagious smile that could brighten your day. Jayne’s life exemplified James 1:22 and encouraged all people to be “doers of the word.”
