Mary “Rosie” Rosalie Tabor, 90, of Centralia, passed away May 31, 2021. Rosie owned and operated various rental properties and was a homemaker. She enjoyed working on her family genealogy. Rosie cherished the time she spent with her family and friends.
Funeral Services for Mary “Rosie” Rosalie Tabor will be held Thursday, June 3, 2021 at 1:30 pm at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia with Donnie Shaffer officiating. Entombment will follow at the Hillcrest Memorial Park Lakeside Mausoleum in Centralia. Visitation will be held Wednesday June 2, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home and Thursday from 12:30 PM until the time of service. Rosie is survived by her son, James “Jay” S. Tabor and wife Micki of Centralia; six daughters, Deborah R. White of Centralia, Cheryl L. Tabor of Centralia, Janice M. Rector and husband Garry of Owensville, MO, Diana R. Pace of Evansville, IN, Donna R. Gibson and Mark Lee of Centralia, and Rebecca E. Tabor of Centralia; 20 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was born September 20, 1930 in Eldorado, Illinois, the daughter of Milton Cowan and Neva Helen (Hughes) Cowan and after both her parents passed she was adopted by Mr. and Mrs. Nova Weems. She married James Jr. Tabor on February 2, 1952 in Centralia and he preceded her in death on March 18, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother: Curtis Wilburn Cowan and two sisters: Velma Jean Cowan and Wilma Louise Puckett.
