The Salem Wildcats opened up the Greenville Soccer Tournament with a 2-0, defensive dominant win over Pinckneyville. Kam Rasul scored to open the game for the second straight contest for the Cats and then assisted on Isaiah Findley’s second of the season. The Cats defense was great and kept the pressure out of their box most of the night. Salem is 2-0 overall and will return to Greenville on Thursday to take on Lebanon who opened with a 6-1 win over Greenville.
Yesterday, Breese Central fell to Althoff 8-0, Highland 2-1 over Edwardsville and Mater Dei and Belleville West played to a scoreless draw.
