In volleyball play, Breese Mater Dei beat Belleville West 2 sets to none. The 25-17, 25-14 win is program win #1500. The Lady Knights are the 3rd All Time in IHSA volleyball with a winning percentage of .829 and an overall program record of 1500 wins 304 losses 12 ties.
The Salem Lady Wildcats volleyball team had their home opener Tuesday against Flora. The freshman won 25-18 and 25-16, JV won 25-23 and 25-15. Varsity finished the night winning 25-12 and 25-15.
South Central opened their season with a three set win over Ramsey (25-18, 23-25, 25-17). Sophie Wodtka had 11 assists and River Yingst added 10, Bailey Wodtka had 7 aces and Mya Schaal dominated the net with 12 kills. The JV lost in three sets. SC will host St Anthony on Thursday.
