Mary Lois Bundy, 94, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 3:36 p.m. on August 23, 2026, at Axiom Gardens in Mount Vernon. She was born June 10, 1932 in Mount Vernon to the late Herbert and Hallie (Marlin) Todd. Lois married Joe Bundy on June 14, 1952, and he preceded her in death in 2015.
Lois is survived by her daughter, Jayne Hamment and husband, Dan; son, Steve Bundy and wife, Carol; grandchildren, Desiree Davenport, Alex Hamment, Jason Bundy and wife, Wendy, Ryan Bundy and wife, Katie, Doug Johnson and wife, Holly, Hunter Quarterman and wife, Crystal; great-grandchildren, Phoebe Kuhn, Savanna Davenport, Alex Salviggio, Parker Stone, Brentley Johnson, Peyton Brooks, Percy Davenport, Claire Bundy, Jillian Bundy, and Lukas Johnson; sister, Edith Arensman; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Lois was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Todd.
Lois was a longtime member of Epworth United Methodist Church. She worked for many years at Good Samaritan Hospital. Lois’ faith and family were very important to her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
A Visitation will be held Thursday, August 27, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. A Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 pm with Reverend Bud Storey officiating. A Private Interment will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois. Memorials may be made in Lois’ honor to the Epworth Food Pantry.
