Salem volleyball lost their home match to Newton in three tough sets 14-25, 25-22, 16-25. The JV lost in straight sets by a pair of 20-25 scores and the night started off with the Salem freshmen splitting their match.
South Central lost to St Elmo/Brownstown 25-11, 17-25, 29-27. The Lady Cougars drop to 5-2 on the season. The JV match was won by SC in straight sets and the Fresh/Soph match was also won by SC who is off until Tuesday at Dieterich.
The Tiger Classic Volleyball Tournament in Edwardsville is this weekend. Teams participating include Mascoutah, Freeburg, Breese Central, Columbia, Nashville and O’Fallon in the field of 16 teams.
