Nadea Crist threw a no hitter as Raccoon beat Selmaville 10-0. The Lady Devils broke the game open with 8 runs in the 5th inning. Izzy Hall, Izzie Bradley and Amyah Williams each drove in a run for Raccoon. Crist went 6 innings and struck out 13 with just 1 walk.
Iuka opened up their softball season with a 15-2 win over Central City. Gracye Rose led Iuka driving in 3 runs as the catcher went 2-3 on the day. Rose, Shaylee Vest and Briella Wodtka had 2 hits. Vest was the winning pitcher giving up 1 hit and 1 earned run over 4 innings with 8 strikeouts.
Also yesterday in softball action, Breese out-gunned Carlyle 14-13, Carterville shutout Johnston City 10-0, North Clay lost to Cisne 22-6, Nashville over Woodlawn 6-2, OLMC 15-3 beat Summersville, Windsor beat St Elmo 13-4.
The OBC Softball Tournament opens up today at Odin.
