Mt. Vernon Police have arrested a 31-year-old Mt. Vernon woman for first degree murder in connection with a Tuesday night stabbing death.
Quencie Favors was still in the house of the victim in the 400 block of South 20th Street when Mt. Vernon Police, Mt. Vernon Fire, and Litton’s Ambulance responded to the scene and found a man unconscious and bleeding. She was taken into custody without incident while the victim was being treated before being transported to a local hospital where he later died.
Mount Vernon Police detectives responded to investigate and Illinois State Police Crime Scene processed the crime scene.
Quencie was taken to the Jefferson County Jail to await a first court appearance.
The victim’s name will be released at a later time, pending notification of family members.
