A vacant home was heavily damaged by fire about four miles south of Centralia late Saturday night.
Multiple fire departments responded to the scene on Copple Lane. The back of the home was fully engulfed in fire and the roof was caving in.
The owner, who discovered the fire, said he was in the process of removing items from the home so it could be torn down. He reported seeing a suspicious vehicle in the area before the fire. The cause is expected to go down as undetermined.
The fire call came in at 10:30 Saturday evening with firemen on the scene for about an hour and a half.
The fire was in the Irvington Fire Protection District, just across the road from the Jefferson Fire District. Centralia City and District as well as Hoyleton and Ashley were also called to assist.
