The Fayette County Coroner’s office has identified the victim of a semi-truck crash on eastbound I-70 near St. Elmo Friday night as 49-year-old Olha Dykhtiar of Ohio.
Initial information indicates the semi left the interstate near the railroad overpass, overturned and came to rest on the driver’s side. Dykhtiar was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation by Illinois State Police and the Fayette County Coroner’s office. An autopsy was scheduled for Monday.
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Department and St. Elmo Police also assisted at the scene along with several fire departments.
