Salem Police Chief Tyler Rose says seven people have been arrested in connection with a fight between two neighbors on Saturday, apparently fueled by comments made on Facebook.
The altercation took place in the 1400 block of North Miller. He reports only minor injuries, none of which required hospital treatment. No initial arrests were made, but further investigation on Sunday led to the arrests.
Rose says those from both sides of the fight were arrested. Members of one group arrested are 52-year-old Ashley Christianson, who remains in custody for aggravated battery and battery; 23-year-old Ashley Christianson, who was released on a notice to appear for misdemeanor battery; 19-year-old Delta Christianson, who was given a notice to appear on two counts of battery; and 25-year-old Nicole Christianson, who remains in custody for alleged domestic battery and battery. They all list addresses in the 1400 block of North Miller.
Those from the other group arrested were 40-year-old Brittany Smith, who is in custody for battery and aggravated battery; 21-year-old Jada Morton, who was released on a notice to appear for battery; and 27-year-old Nathaniel Christianson, who remains in custody for domestic battery. All three listed an address on North Trenary in Salem.
Rose says there are conflicting stories about which group started the fight. The two homes involved are across the street from each other. He reports no other arrests are anticipated.
Rose reports police were called by one of those at the fight, who indicated 15 people were involved.
