The Salem City Council, on Monday night, will consider a new policy allowing employees within a city department to donate sick time to another employee in the same department who is experiencing a major medical event that would otherwise require time off without pay.  An employee could donate up to 48 hours annually, provided they maintain a balance of 40 hours or greater after the donation.  The policy, if approved, would be on a trial basis and may be amended or repealed.

The council will be asked to approve a two-year contract with XT Solutions LLC for hardware and software support for the city, other than the police department.   The service would be provided at a fixed monthly cost of $3,750, exclusive of equipment, during the first year.

The council will consider the annual resolution to temporarily close certain streets, including Route 37 and US 50, for the Little Egypt Festival and Parade on Saturday, October 3rd.

An ordinance will seek to declare the property at 420 East Church as surplus in order to accept sealed bids on the property.

The meeting begins at six on Monday night at Salem City Hall.
