Seven people were shot, and five were killed in an East St. Louis shooting Sunday morning. State Police say the two still alive are in critical condition. All the victims are related.
State Police announced at a press conference that two teens, 15 and 16-year-olds, are in custody. Both are related. Police were able to stop the suspect vehicle by using a PIT maneuver. One of the suspects is related to one of the persons killed.
Illinois State Police said the shooting took place in three locations on Sunday, including Jones Park. They report that there is no known threat to the public at present.
ISP identifies the victims as 49-year-old Cherie May, 24-year-old Devin May, 74-year-old Patricia May, 21-year-old Quentin Thompson, and 25-year-old Shania Thompson.
ISP is working with the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s office on charges against the two juveniles.
