Christ Our Rock Lutheran High School graduate Jayden Bazile is taking the next step in his baseball career after committing to continue playing at Indiana State University.
Bazile earned the opportunity following an outstanding freshman season at Kaskaskia College, where he established himself as one of the Blue Devils’ top offensive performers. The infielder batted .398 while collecting five home runs, 51 RBI and 53 runs scored. He also showcased his speed on the bases, stealing 19 bases in 22 attempts, and demonstrated excellent plate discipline by striking out just 27 times in 202 plate appearances.
His impressive all-around production quickly drew the attention of Division I programs, culminating in his commitment to the Sycamores.
Before arriving at Kaskaskia, Bazile starred at Christ Our Rock, helping build a reputation as one of the area’s top young players with his combination of hitting ability, speed and defensive versatility.
Bazile’s development has continued this summer with the Clinton LumberKings of the Prospect League, one of the nation’s premier collegiate summer baseball leagues. He was invited to join the LumberKings following his standout freshman campaign, giving him the opportunity to compete against many of the top collegiate players in the Midwest before beginning his Division I career at Indiana State.
