The Patoka Junior Legion Post 543 offense was firing on all cylinders Monday night, piling up 14 hits and cruising to an 18-0 victory over Breese Legion 2026 16U.

Leading the offensive onslaught was Ryker Dodson, who turned in a perfect night at the plate. Dodson went 4-for-4 with a pair of doubles and two singles while driving in runs and setting the tone for a Post 543 lineup that never let up.

Patoka wasted little time jumping in front. In the bottom of the first inning, Ky Walker got things started with a single before Dodson ripped a double down the right field line. Blaize Murray followed with a triple, Drew Haines added a double, and Isaac Guerrettaz chipped in an RBI groundout as Post 543 raced to a 5-0 lead.

The offense stayed hot in the second inning. Walker and Brady Cain each drove in runs while Haines added another RBI on a groundout, extending the advantage to 8-0.

While the bats were doing their job, Haines was dominant on the mound. The right-hander tossed three hitless innings, striking out four and not issuing a walk. Walker followed with two scoreless innings of relief as the duo combined on a five-inning no-hitter.

Any hopes of a Breese comeback disappeared in the fourth inning when Post 543 exploded for nine runs. Dodson opened the rally with another RBI double before a combination of timely hits, hit batters, and aggressive baserunning turned the inning into a rout. Brantley Brumfield delivered an RBI single, Austin Hoffman knocked in two runs with a base hit, Cain added another RBI single, and Dodson capped the inning with his fourth hit of the night.

Hoffman, Cain, and Murray each collected multiple hits as Post 543’s lineup produced from top to bottom. The defense backed up the pitching effort with a flawless performance in the field, committing no errors. Dodson led the way defensively with seven chances handled cleanly.

By night’s end, Post 543 had scored 18 runs, pounded out 14 hits, and completed a dominant all-around performance in the shutout victory.
