Roberta Lucille Marcotte peacefully passed away on June 3, 2026, in Batavia, Illinois, at the age of 104.
Roberta was born on April 20, 1922, to Roland and Sophia Rhodes of Opdyke, Illinois. After graduating from Manteno High School, Roberta went on to work as a telephone operator for Illinois Bell.
Roberta and Edwin J. Marcotte of Kankakee, Illinois, were wed in 1945 and had two sons, Edwin J. Marcotte, Jr., and Michael A. Marcotte. Roberta became a stay-at-home mother, dedicated volunteer at the United Methodist Church in Tinley Park, Illinois, and participated in numerous community service endeavors. Her great joys included square dancing with her husband, traveling, and spending time with family.
Roberta is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Melba, Betty, and Jean; brothers, Rex and Walter; and beloved husband Edwin.
She is survived by her two sons, Ed and Mike; daughter-in-law, Rachel; grandchildren, Eric, Alison, Rebecca, Ryan; and her three great-grandchildren, Avery, Joseph, and Max.
Roberta will be greatly missed and remembered for her deep and abiding love for her family and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
A Visitation will be held at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon on Thursday, June 11, 2026, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. A Graveside Service will follow at 10:30 am at Opdyke Cemetery in Opdyke.
