It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Evelyn G. Marshall who passed away on Wednesday, May 6th, 2026. Evelyn was born on Friday, August 20th, 1948, and spent her wonderful 77 years bringing joy and warmth to everyone she encountered. She was a cherished member of the Centralia, IL community.

A devoted caregiver, Evelyn dedicated her life to nurturing others with compassion and kindness, working with distinction as an LPN, where her dedication and heart filled the lives of her patients with comfort and care. Beyond her professional life, Evelyn had a deep passion for country music and cherished every moment spent riding bikes with her beloved grandchildren.

Evelyn’s educational journey began at Irvington Grade School, followed by Centralia High School, where she forged friendships and memories that lasted a lifetime. An active participant in her faith community, Evelyn found solace and strength attending services at the Evangelical Church in Irvington.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, survived by her sons: Richard Cook, John Marshall, and Timothy Marshall, all of Centralia; her daughter, Nicole Lewis of Centralia; and two loving sisters, Nancy Atchison of Dix and Kathy (Dale) Kingsley of Centralia. Evelyn’s boundless love touched the lives of her six grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Henry John Zach and Zelma (Williams) Zach; her sisters Loretta Beppler and Diane McNelly; half-sister Jenelle Brewer; niece Crystal Atchison; and brother-in-law Ronnie Atchison. Her family takes solace in knowing she is reunited with them and at peace.
