The City of Salem has announced that North Washington Avenue from US 50 to Schwartz Street on the east side of the courthouse will become one-way traffic only going northbound beginning on Wednesday morning at six.

Parallel parking will remain on both sides of the street, with all spaces on both sides of the street for northbound traffic.   The city has also set aside the first four parking spaces on the east side of the street, north of U.S. 50, for ten-minute parking only to accommodate those who want to make a quick trip to Red Brick Coffee and Deli and T and K Title Company.

Southbound traffic on Washington Street will find wrong-way signs at Schwartz Street, forcing them to travel east or west on Schwartz Street.
