Georgia I. Scott, 90, of Bluford, IL, passed away at 5:02 p.m. on April 26, 2026, at her residence with her family by her side in Bluford, IL. She was born March 17, 1936, in Bluford, IL, to Raymond Wilson and Mildred (Cameron) Wilson. Georgia married James E. Scott on September 1955.
Georgia is survived by her Husband James E. Scott of Bluford, IL; Children, James Michael Scott and wife Marcia of Bluford, IL, Brenda Gail Lowry and husband David of Locust Grove, GA; Natalie Michelle Capps and husband Eric of Collinsville, IL; Grandchildren, Lisa Tew and husband Michael, Brad Lowry and wife Ashleigh, Jessica Hagemann and husband John, Josh Scott and wife Melanie, Amanda Irwin, Jarred Irwin and wife Christina; 11 Great Grandchildren; Sisters, Norma Shreve and husband Bob, Margie Dement, Betty Hall.
Georgia was preceded in death by her Father, Raymond P Wilson; her mother, Mildred Wilson; her son, Steven Wayne Scott; her brothers, Bill Wilson and Ron Wilson; her sister-in-law, Barbara Wilson; and her brother-in-law, Richard Dement.
She enjoyed her career as an Administrative Assistant at the US Government Veterans Affairs for many years. She also worked alongside her husband on the family farm.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Newell Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, IL. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 01, 2026, at 10:30 am at Newell Funeral Home with Mr. Ron Daniels officiating. Interment will follow at Oakdale Cemetery in rural Bluford, IL. Memorials may be made in Georgia’s Honor to Oakdale Cemetery.
