Ronald Henry Lager, age 77, of Carlyle, IL, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2026, surrounded by family. Born on June 13, 1948, in Breese to James and Frances Lager, he lived a life dedicated to his family and community.

He was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a caring grandfather. He is survived by his wife Connie, children Shauna (Roger) Daou and Justin (Jill) Lager, grandchildren Jaedon Lager, Jolee Lager, Camden Daou, and Juni Lager (granddog), sisters-in-law Karen Lager, Linda Williams, and Debi (Randy) Moss, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents (James and Frances Lager), in-laws (Lavern and Leona Lallman),  brother (James Lager), and brother-in-law (Jerry Williams).

Ron worked in sales at Precision Build Companies for many years. In his earlier years, he served in the military as a Marine, coached Little League baseball and softball, served on a committee to start the soccer program in Breese, and was a member of the Breese American Legion and St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Ron loved spending time with his family, traveling, and interacting with people, in general. He had the biggest heart and would do anything for his family and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at St. Mary’s Church (1171 Livingston St., Carlyle, IL 62231), on Saturday, May 2, 2026, with visitation from 9:00 – 11:00 A.M., and a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M.  Interment will follow at St. Dominic/St. Augustine Cemetery in Breese.
