The Salem Wildcats earned their first win of the baseball season, winning a makeup game with Odin/Patoka/Sandoval 7-1 in a game moved to Salem High School.  Salem scored 5 runs in the first inning after Keytin Grawe doubled home the first run followed by Brody Collier’s 2-run double, Carter Lowe added an RBI single and Hudson Gambill drove in a run with a groundout.  Ben Spencer and Brady Haines had hits for the Eagles.  Luke Boldt and Logan Butts also added Salem hits.  The Salem games today at home with Marion and Waterloo have been cancelled.

Mt Vernon fell to 5-5 with a loss to a very good Harrisburg Bulldogs squad 13-3.  Nolan Mast went 3-3 for the Rams and Drove in a run.  Ryker Perigo singled and scored twice.

North Clay split their double header yesterday beating Belleville West 6-1.  Trevan Sidwell was the winning pitcher allowing 3 hits and one run in his complete game win.  Carder Walden, Jack Compton and Cody Zimdars each had 2 hits with Ian Jones and Zimdars each driving in 2 runs with Zimdars coming on a 2-run homer in the fourth.

The Cardinals then fell to Freeburg 15-5.  Freeburg’s Cohen Merrill homered in the third to give the Midgets a 5-4 lead they would not give up again.  Cole Miller added a Freeburg homer.  Jones took the loss for North Clay allowing 4 earned runs over 3 innings.  Cayden Craig drove in 2 runs.

Sebastian Kruger went 3-3 as South Central routed Ramsey 15-0.  The Cougars opened the game with 8 runs in the first and never looked back.  Eli Hiestand was the winning pitcher giving up no hits and no runs.  Aidan Hoover led the Cougars with 4 RBI.

The Centralia Orphans dropped their game to Nashville 7-2.  Centralia got on the board in the first inning on a groundout by Michael Organ, but the Hornets played 4 runs in the 5th to take a 4-2 lead.  Rhett Lambert threw well in his start as he allowed 4 hits and no runs in 4 innings.  Organ drove in 2 runs for Centralia.  Valon Williams, Drew Jack, Organ, Preston Feig, Lambert and Bryden Hall added hits for Centralia.  Centralia will travel to Waltonville on Tuesday.
