A fund-raising murder mystery play and dinner is planned at Castle Ridge on Saturday to raise money for the Dream Come True Prom.

Guests will be transported back to the golden age of broadcast for an evening of suspense, dinner and philanthropy as a group of local actors and celebrities will perform ‘Last Days of Radio, Murder at KDED’.

Mystery is afoot during the live broadcast of the Buck Brick Show at KDED.  Station owner Russ Spring is on the verge of a decision that could shutter the station and end the careers of everyone on staff.  When a body is discovered mid-broadcast, the crew realizes that ‘dead air’ has taken on a literal, lethal meaning.  Even with a killer in the booth, the show must go on.

Director of Production Carrie Perkins-Schnicker says this isn’t just a dinner, it’s an immersive step back in time.  She notes while the suspects are fighting for their careers and their lives on stage, guests will be helping to ensure the disability community get the prom experience they’ve always dreamed of.

Tickets are $55 and include a full dinner and the performance.  Tickets can be purchased online at Castle Ridge Events prior to the event.  Seating is limited.

Proceeds from the event will go directly to the Dream Come True Prom, an initiative dedicated to bringing the disability community a prom they’ll never forget.  The free event for the disability community, their staff, family and friends is funded by the generosity of businesses, organizations and private donors.  Hundreds of people attend the grand affair at Castle Ridge every year.  Guests get all dressed up in free formal wear and are gifted elegant crows and tiaras as they arrive before dancing the night away.
