The Salem Grade School Board accepted a retirement letter from long time teacher and athletic director Suzie Worman at Thursday night’s meeting. Worman plans to retire at the end of the 2029-30 school year.
The board hired Caden Bee as assistant track coach. Rachel Willliams resigned as assistant cross country coach and Megan Lenzini as assistant girls’ basketball coach.
Eleven teachers were placed on tenure. They are Allison Harper, Rachel Williams, Ann Tucker, Mildred Cowger, Morgan Follett, Chelsea Schnautz, Laura Meier, John Smith, Paige Saupe, McKenna Barnfield and Josye Jansen.
Nine other non-tenured teachers had their contracts renewed. They are Olivia Daniels, Kristen Parrett, Elizabeth Williams, Mallory Hodge, Megan Lenzini Katelyn Maxey, Jennings Barnfield, and Bethany Hanks.
Eight ESP employees were honorably discharged until enrollment for next year is more certain. They are Jessica Branson, Casidy Jeffords, Cynthia Duff, Beth Ann Parker, Destiny Wimberly, Brittany Asroff, Sheryl Wolff, and Nicole Booher.
The April School Board meeting has been rescheduled for April 23rd to provide an extra week of time to put together proposals for employee health insurance. The board is looking at options after having to make extra payments to the Egyptian Trust option the past two years to keep it afloat.
