An estimated 200 took advantage of a free breakfast in celebration of National Agriculture Week at the Marion County Farm Bureau on Tuesday.
Manager Brad Conant says this year’s event was made special by $750 in giveaways to celebrate America’s 250 birthday.
“During National Ag Week, it’s just a celebration of agriculture, the farmers, and the hard work that goes into providing food, fuel, and fiber for the nation,” Conant said. “We like to do this every year and give back to the community with a free breakfast, and again, just celebrate agriculture.”
While there was no charge for the breakfast, donations were taken for the Marion County Farm Bureau Foundation and Ag in the Classroom. $600 was collected, up from last year.
