It is with a broken heart that we announce the passing of Catherine Rose Rentfrow, 77, of Farina, on March 7th, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was born to Cecil Sr. and Helen (Whitt) Quick on October 10th, 1948, in Farina. She married Dennis Fields and had 3 wonderful children before his passing in 1994. She would then find love again with James Rentfrow, and they married on May 23rd, 1998, and spent 27 loving years together before his passing.
She is survived by her sons: Jason Fields, Corey Fields (fiancée Alayna), and Josh Hunley; daughters: Rebecca Rentfrow and Sara Hunley (fiancé Michael Mitchell); sisters-in-law: Linda (Ralph) Goldstein, Sandy (Darrell) Schwerman, Sheila Rentfrow; and sister: Shirley Quick; seven grandchildren: Weston, Wyatt, Wayde, Logan, Tucker, Tatem, and Tully; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Cecil Sr. and Helen Quick; husbands: Dennis Fields and James Rentfrow; brother: Cecil Quick Jr.; and nephew: Ken Schwerman.
Catherine was a woman of God. She was very active in her Church, alongside her husband James. She and James were members of Campers on a Mission, an organization of evangelical Christian campers and RVers dedicated to sharing their faith and love for Jesus through various missions. She had a childlike infatuation with hummingbirds. She loved her family greatly, especially her grandchildren.
A funeral service for James and Catherine Rentfrow will be held Saturday, March 14th, 2026, at 11:00 am at the First Southern Baptist Church in Farina. There will be a time of visitation from 10:00 am till the time of the service. Burial will follow in the Farina Cemetery with military rites for James. A time of visitation will be held on Friday, March 13th, 2026, at the Church from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Campers on a Mission or First Southern Baptist Church of Farina.
