Ruth Ann Myers, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at the age of 84.
Ruth was born on October 28, 1941, in Centralia, the daughter of Louie E. Robinett and Beatrice L. (McCormick) Robinett. She married Larry R. Myers, Sr. on November 25, 1964, and he preceded her in death on November 11, 2022. For many years, she served as a cherished paper courier for the Centralia Sentinel, bringing the news to the community until her well-deserved retirement. Ruth was known for her unwavering commitment to her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Larry R. Myers, Sr; her grandson, Robert “Robb” Johnson, Jr, and her two brothers: Jimmy Robinett and Jerry Robinett.
Ruth is survived by her two children, Tricia Slagley and her husband Chris, and Larry Myers, Jr., and his wife Michele. She was the proud grandmother of six grandsons: Stephen Bryant and wife Sarah, Shawn Myers and wife Nessa, Larry Myers, III, Jeremy Myers, Roby Slagley, and Jacob Barker. Her family extended even further, with 11 adored great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews who brought joy to her life.
Private Family Graveside services will be held to honor Ruth’s life on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Mt. Evergreen Cemetery in Central City, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family.
