Dr. Erlinda “Linda” Cue Rivera, age 85 of Breese, passed away at her home on Saturday, January 31, 2026.

Linda was born in Tuguegarao, Cagayan, Philippines, on August 25, 1940, a daughter of Vincente and Margarita Carag Cue. She married Renato Bacol Rivera in Quezon City, Philippines, on July 21, 1968.

Linda earned her medical degree from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines, in 1964 and completed her OB-GYN residency in New York. She later moved to Carlyle, where she raised her children and built a warm, welcoming home filled with faith, education, and love. Linda later made her home in Breese and was a faithful member of St. Dominic Church. Linda enjoyed life’s simple pleasures, especially reading, watching movies, shopping, and staying connected with family and friends.

Linda is survived by her husband, Dr. Renato Rivera of Breese; her children, Dr. Christopher Rivera (Lisa) of Breese, Dr. Kate Rivera Kunz (Lance) of Breese, Michael Rivera (Jenny) of Breese, Elizabeth Cyrus (Dr. Tillmann) of Las Vegas, NV, and Dr. Robert Rivera (Chantel) of Kirkland, WA; her grandchildren, Dr. Renee Connor (Brendan), Alex Rivera (Hailey), Rachel Rivera, Olivia Kunz, Andrew Rivera, Nathan Rivera (fiancé Jillian Tonnies), Zachary Rivera, Jacqueline Cyrus, Peter Cyrus, Georgine Rivera, and Evelyn Rivera; a sister, Maria Jesusa Cue “Ching” Wiegman; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vincente and Margarita Carag Cue; a son, Anthony Rivera; her siblings, Teodorico Cue, Anita Carag Cue, and Rogelio Cue; and a brother-in-law, Gerard Wiegman.

A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 493 N 2nd St, Breese, IL 62230. Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Carlyle. Visitation will be held at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese on Friday, February 6, 2026, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and on Saturday from 9:00 to 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers or other gifts, the family suggests memorial donations in her memory to Mater Dei High School, All Saints Academy, or Bohol Surgical Mission.
