Centralia City Firefighters say a parked car caught fire at a home in the 600 block of North Locust Street Monday afternoon.
Firefighters say it has not been determined how the fire started in the engine compartment of the car owned by Shaymaka Golden. Flames were showing and the fire was moving into the passenger compartment of the vehicle when firefighters arrived.
Firemen got a quick knockdown but say the car will still be a total loss.
No other property was threatened by the fire.
The fire call came in a 2:30 Monday afternoon.
