Salem Cats 10u Softball team Rushing traveled to Cape Girardeau, MO for an indoor softball tournament this weekend.  They played three games and went 3-0.
In the first game, Julianna Rushing struck out 10 batters as the pitcher and let the Salem Cats 10u past Black Widow 2014 10u 9-1 on Saturday.  Julianna allowed two hits and one run over four innings while walking one.  Salem Cats 10u added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning when Avree Winegarner drew a walk, scoring one run.  Eva Trout paced Salem Cats 10u with 3 walks.
In the second game, Salem Cats 10u defeats Marion Wildcats on the back of clutch display from Harper McCarthy.  Harper drove in 5 runs on two hits to lead Salem past the Marion Wildcats on Saturday. Avree Winegarner had a single, scoring one run, Khaeler Williams also singled, scoring 2 runs.  Harper Strubhart started in the circle for Salem Cats.  Harper allowed zero hits, striking out three and walking four.
In the third game, Salem Cats 10u won over Stars 11-5.  Shaylee Vest led Salem Cats going 1 for 2 on the day, adding two runs in the third inning after a line drive hit.  Harper Strubhart, Harper McCarthy also collected one hit for Salem Cats 10u.  Khaeler Williams led Salem Cats with 3 walks.  Shaylee led things off in the circle for Salem Cats 10u.  She surrendered 6 hits and 5 runs, striking out four and walking one.  Julianna came in relief and threw one inning of zero-run ball, striking out three and walking none.
