The Centralia Orphans beat rival Mt Vernon for the 2nd time in a little over a week, this time at Trout Arena by a final of 49-34. The game was tight throughout and then in the 4th quarter and intentional foul by Mt Vernon sophomore Dave Barnes led to an altercation on the court and police ended up getting involved. The game ended without any more on-court incidents, although fans were starting to get riled up as well.
Centralia will take their 20-3 record to Pinckneyville Shootout today where they will get 17-1 Waltonville coming off their first loss of the year last night to Marion 69-41. Game time at 1:30. Other games today from the Shootout will be Greenville and Freeburg at 9, Murphsyboro takes on Mascoutah at 3, Pinckneyville and Shelbyville play at 6.
