“Bigger Houses” has been resonating with and touching the hearts of many, including the artists who sing it — Dan + Shay.

Singing it up onstage in front of thousands has been special for Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney, but delivering it at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena was extra special.

“Getting to go on the road and see how much that song tangibly meant to fans, it honestly changed our lives. Like, feeling that back from them at Bridgestone, you know, we rolled out on that little tiny house and sang that song, it just was so special,” Dan tells ABC Audio.

“It’s our perspective where we are in our lives right now, and it’s genuine, it’s honest, it’s authentic,” he says.  “[We’re] really proud of that song.”

For Dan + Shay, their headlining show was like a full-circle, pinch-me moment, especially after moving to Music City over a decade ago.

“That was one of the most special shows we’ve ever played in our entire career. It just felt like family,” says Dan. “I felt super emotional at that show. I don’t know if it came across [from] the crowd, but just this town — I’m going to get emotional talking about it — this town has done so much for us and continues to do so much for us.”

“We moved [to Nashville] to chase a dream, to write country music. And without y’all, without y’all showing up in that room, just spreading love for us, man, we would have nothing,” he shares. “Just being on that stage that night at Bridgestone was, I don’t know. It was a surreal night. There were tears flowing for sure.”

“Bigger Houses” is now in the top five and making its ascent to the summit of the country charts.
