The Salem Wildcats felt like they let a game slip away earlier this week when they fell to Roxana 2-1 on a late run on the road.  They flipped the script on Thursday in Salem.  The Cats trailed 4-1 in the 4th inning but they would score 6 runs in the final 2 innings including Carter Lowe’s walk-off 3 run double to lift Salem to a 7-6 win over the Shells.  Lowe would finish going 3-4 with 5 RBi on the day.  Owen Tennyson also drove in a run and Logan Butts doubled.  A scary moment for Salem in the 5th when Roxana would hit a ball to 3rd base and as the throw was made to a stretching first baseman Luke Boldt, the Roxana player appeared to intentionally kick his leg out from under him.   Boldt would have to come out of the game.  Brody Collier kept Salem in the game with his start, and Aaden Rostance got the win in relief going 3.1.

For the second time in a week, Columbia edged Breese Central, this time 8-4 and the Eagles are tied with Roxana for 2nd place in the conference after their loss to Salem.  Everyone is chasing Freeburg who is the league leader.
