The preseason rankings are out for NJCAA Division 1 with John A Logan the countries #1 team followed in the top 5 by South Plains, Tallahassee, Indian Hills and then Pearl River.

Logan also got some good news.  Coach Tyler Smithpeters announced Monday they welcomed New Mexico Jr College transfer Romon Douglas-Watkins who will be eligible immediately.

The 6-6 small forward played in 31 games last year and averaged 16.2 point.  The Peoria native shot 50.6% from the field and 41.5 from the 3 point range and added 9 rebounds per game.  Douglas-Watkins was a 2 star athlete out of Peoria Manual and the red-shirt sophomore already has D1 interest from West Virginia as well as East Tennessee State, Weber State, California St Bakersfield, South Alabama and many others.

He’ll join a Logan sophomore class that includes big men Sydney Curry and Jamarion Sharp along with Xavier Ball, Justin Johnson, Cam Alford and Mario McKinney.
