Cheryl (Blackburn) Finley, 63, of Centralia, passed away December 7, 2020 at her home, surrounded by her loved ones after a brave battle with cancer. Cheryl was a lifelong resident of Centralia and member of the Calumet Street Christian Church where she loved to attend with her family. She was a loyal employee of SSM St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia for 26 years and made lifelong friendships with co-workers. Cheryl’s love of Amazon shopping was known by all, she enjoyed the convenience and the hunt for a good bargain. If she was not online shopping she was keeping in touch with friends on Facebook. Her furry companions, Miley and Oshie were always being spoiled. In retirement Cheryl really enjoyed painting ceramics and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. Cheryl’s legacy of caring for family will live on in the hearts and actions of all she knew and loved.

Celebration of life services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 10, 2020, at the Hillcrest Memorial Park in rural Sandoval with Pastor John Willis officiating. Those in attendance will be asked to wear a mask and practice social distance protocols. Memorial contributions may be made to 6 Lemons in Cheryl’s memory. Survivors that will remember Cheryl’s kind smile and zest for life include her beloved son, Matthew Finley and wife Ami of Centralia; treasured grandchildren, Michael Finley of North Fork, VA, Rachel Finley and wife Emily of Belleville, IL; devoted fianc�, Steve Paradee of Centralia; loving sister, Xondra Williams of Centralia; precious niece and nephew, Anjinett Husher and husband Art of Centralia, Aaron Piper of WA; treasured friends, Liz Davis, and Terri Boggs.

She was born December 13, 1956 the daughter of Xon and Effie (Nicolay) Blackburn in Centralia, IL. She married her sweetheart Mike Finley in Marion County in 1983 and he preceded her in death on May 12, 2011. Cheryl found love again later in life with her fianc� Steve Paradee. Cheryl is preceded in death by her husband, Mike Finley, and both of her parents, Xon and Effie Blackburn.
