Two people arrested following separate incidents in Salem over the weekend were ordered held without bond until their next court appearance after a judge found their release was a threat to the victims or community.
28-year-old Joshua Scott of Cedar Road in Centralia was charged with threatening a public official and felony domestic battery. Scott is accused of throwing a family member over a bed on April 11th. The charge was a felony due to a past domestic battery conviction in Marion County. Once at the jail, Scott was charged with threatening a public official after he allegedly made threats of bodily harm or sexual assault to a Salem Police officer and his family. The charge carries an extended term due to a prior Marion County felony conviction. Scott had a public defender appointed to represent him and is scheduled to remain in custody until his preliminary hearing on April 28th.
20-year-old Corthal Horn of South Franklin in Salem was charged with one count of aggravated domestic battery and four counts of misdemeanor battery from an April 10th. He’s accused of impeding the breathing of a household member as well as four other acts of misdemeanor battery against the same family member. The charges include the victim onto a bicycle, striking the victim in the head and body with his hands, and kicking her in the body. Horn was ordered held in the Marion County Jail until a May 5th preliminary hearing. A public defender was appointed to represent him.
