Patoka Firemen were called to the Shaun Murray home on North Railroad Street in Patoka on Saturday when a fire broke out in the kitchen.
Fire Chief Blake Hyde says the cooking fire had started to spread to the cabinets but was knocked down by the residents before the department arrived. The damage was limited to one small area. Firemen checked to make sure the fire was completely out.
The call came in at 4:32 Saturday afternoon.
