A 67-year-old Effingham woman has died from injuries sustained in a head-on car-semi crash near Effingham Saturday morning.
State Police say a preliminary investigation indicates Deborah Hendricks was traveling eastbound on U.S. 40 just west of the Outer Belt West when she crossed over into the westbound lane and struck a semi head-on driven by 26-year-old Jeremy Davenport of Quincy.
Hendricks was pronounced dead at the scene. Davenport was transported to a local area hospital for treatment of injuries.
The crash occurred at 8:08 Saturday morning.
