The Salem City Council Monday night approved a downtown tax increment financing district development agreement for a small strip shopping center at 210 West Schwartz Street.
Economic Development Director Lea Dellicarpini explained the agreement with Zachary Ray Rose and his Guns and Roses, LLC.
“He has purchased that and is going to fix it up. He’s going to put a gun shop in there and rent one or two of the end gaps to a retail style of business. He’s no less than $25,000 in and the development agreement is we would give him $12,500 back in reimbursable expenses. Those are TIF eligible expenses that will come down to remodeling, refurbing the building and making it a better asset for Salem.”
Dellicarpini says the project should be completed in the next year or so.
